Mint Education Pty Ltd, trading as Mint Education ("Mint", "we", "us" or "our"), respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information through our website, student portal and tutoring services.
Information we collect
We may collect:
- parent or carer names, email addresses, phone numbers and, where required for invoicing, billing addresses;
- student names, schools, year levels and enrolled subjects;
- homework, student questions and other portal submissions;
- assessment results, progress information and tutor feedback; and
- limited technical information automatically generated when our website or portal is used.
We do not currently collect student phone numbers or email addresses, dates of birth or profile photographs.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide and administer our tutoring services;
- create and manage student accounts;
- provide learning materials, feedback and support;
- track and communicate student progress;
- communicate with parents, carers and students;
- manage invoicing and administration; and
- operate and improve our website and portal.
Assessment results and progress information are used to support and track student learning. We do not provide these records to third parties for advertising or external analysis.
We do not sell personal information.
Students
Mint provides services to school-aged students. Student accounts are created through parents or carers, and we aim to collect only the information reasonably required to provide our educational services.
Storage and retention
Website trial enquiries and text-back requests are processed by FormSubmit and emailed to Mint Education. FormSubmit retains form submissions for up to 30 days. We use the contact details you provide to respond to your request.
Our backend, database and file storage are provided through Supabase. We may also use other service providers where reasonably necessary to host and operate our website and portal.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access or disclosure.
Homework is generally retained until a student completes the Selective School Placement Test, after which it is scheduled for deletion. Parents or carers may request earlier deletion. Student questions and related messages are retained only temporarily where needed to provide support.
Other learning and account information is retained only for as long as reasonably required to provide our services or meet administrative or legal requirements.
Some technology providers may process information outside Australia. The locations involved may change depending on the service provider and configuration we use.
Access and correction
Parents and carers may contact us to request access to, correction of, or, where appropriate, deletion of personal information relating to themselves or their child. We may need to verify identity before acting on a request.
