TLDR: Because tutoring should feel like the teacher genuinely cares about your child and the person they are becoming.
Both of our younger brothers went through selective tutoring, and we felt the teaching and resources did not reflect the time and trust families invested. Looking back at our own selective preparation, we felt much the same.
Teaching high school students also showed us how difficult poor learning habits can be to change. We wanted to help students get those habits right from the beginning.
We both genuinely love teaching and want to see our students grow. We’re building a positive environment that inspires the next generation to enjoy learning.
We built Mint to provide the personalised tutoring we wanted for our brothers and wish we’d received ourselves. Our priority is to give students the best chance of entering their desired selective school.

Pricing & terms
10-lesson term
Weekly figures spread the full 10-lesson term price across the teaching weeks. Shortened terms are charged only for scheduled lessons. Payment terms will be confirmed before enrolment. Joining during term?
Classes are currently held at 9 Gatwood Close, Padstow. If Padstow is difficult to reach, call or text us to discuss an alternative location. Padstow isn’t our permanent home, so don’t let location stop your child from learning with Mint.
Each program runs for two hours per week. We’ll discuss available class times with you after your enquiry.
Our Selective program is for Years 4-6, from Term 3 of Year 4 after the OC test until the Selective test in Year 6. Students can also join anytime in Years 5 or 6, subject to availability.
Homework is assigned through the Mint student portal after each lesson and reviewed by our tutors. Tasks reinforce what students are learning in class, with access to our question bank for further practice across each topic.
Yes. Students can contact their tutors through the Mint portal between lessons for help with homework, class content or any questions they are unsure about.
Parents can view progress reports through the Mint portal, including quiz results and areas for improvement. You can also book a 15-minute consultation with your child’s tutor to discuss their progress in more detail.
Yes, where a place is available. You’re invoiced only for the remaining scheduled lessons at the existing per-lesson rates, including shortened Year 4 starting terms and Year 6 finishing terms. Flexible payment arrangements can be discussed by request.
